How To Report an Auto Glass Insurance Claim

How To Report an Auto Glass Insurance Claim

Brad Roop

Thursday, November 19, 2015 - 10:36am

It can be upsetting when your windshield gets hit with a stone on highway 64 and it cracks. There you are wondering how do I get my windshield replaced, are my insurance rates going to increase, and what about the quality of the glass.

Glass Doctor is a preferred insurance repair company for all of the insurance companies. Glass Doctor does insurance work from Virginia Beach to Williamsburg in the entire Hampton Roads area.

It is an easy process to report an auto glass insurance claim. All you need to have is your policy number. It is on your insurance card. Call Glass Doctor at 757-495-6514. We will do a three way call between you and the insurance company. The insurance company will ask a couple questions and authorize the work. We will then bill insurance company directly for all work performed.

Insurance companies do not normally increase your insurance rates for auto glass claims. They know that this is expected since you are driving a vehicle on the roadways.

Most insurance companies cover chip repairs in windshields for free. The insurance companies would rather pay for a chip repair then pay to have a windshield replaced.

Glass Doctor uses only glass that is manufactured to Original Equipment Manufacturer standards. This provides you with peace of mind and a great product that meets or exceeds what is required to get your vehicle operating properly.

Operating since 2006

http://glassdoctor.com/jackson-ca

It happens all the time. Folks are cruising down interstate, minding their own business when all of the sudden an 18-wheeler driving up ahead kicks up a pebble. It’s a seemingly insignificant pebble. That is, until it hits the windshield. The initial impact sounds horrific, as if it were a boulder. And the remnant of the impact is an unwanted souvenir…a very small, miniscule hole. It’s no big deal…until the hole spreads into a crack that slowly creeps across the windshield.

But what many folks don’t realize is how dangerous that little crack really is. Not only does it impair the driver’s vision, but it also affects the stability and safety of the entire windshield.

Mark Borchin of Glass Doctor of the Gold Country explains,

The windshield is such an integral part of the structure and safety of your auto.

Glass Doctor: What’s your story with Glass Doctor?

Mark Borchin: I’ve been self-employed for more than 25 years. After seven years in the glass business, I joined Glass Doctor® in 2006 to diversify my services and to better serve my customers.

Glass Doctor: Why is auto glass service so important to consumers?

Mark Borchin: Barbara Walters once stated in a 20/20 segment that more than 70% of car windshields are installed incorrectly. That’s significant. What most people don’t realize is that the windshield provides a significant amount of strength to the structural support in the cabin of the vehicle. For instance, in a front end collision the windshield provides up to 45% of the structural integrity of the cabin of the vehicle and in a rollover, up to 60%. The situation can be deadly if not installed correctly.

Glass Doctor: Tell us about an auto glass service call Glass Doctor of the Gold Country provided.

Mark Borchin: One day a customer brought in her 2000 Honda Civic. The windshield had slipped down and wind was coming in through the gap between the windshield and the roof of the car. The backstory for this Honda was that someone in an unmarked truck without company identification had recently installed the windshield inexpensively. This was truly a case of you get what you pay for. Our NGA Certified Specialist installed a new original equipment replacement glass, following all of the safety procedures and returning the windshield to its original manufacturer’s specifications. The customer was not only happy with her new windshield, but she was also safer as well.

Glass Doctor: Do you have any tips or takeaways you would like to share?

Mark Borchin: When you help others I don't believe that you’re giving up something…instead, you’re actually getting something. You’re lifted up and fulfilled.

Call the Glass Doctor…we fix your panes.
